Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
As seen on the runways at NYFW, our state's sunny vibes have made Cali the golden muse for the fashion world. Also feeling the Golden State's stylish rays of sunshine is interior design star Bobby Berk, who picked Culver City's Helms Bakery Design District—also home to Racked 38er H.D. Buttercup—as the fourth location for his modern home decor store Bobby Berk Home.
Infused with laid-back Californian chic and Berk's punchy color palette, the rustic-meets-retro showroom features affordable, eco-friendly home furniture, accessories, bedding and more that "speaks to a definitive Los Angeles state of mind." In addition, the store will showcase his new line of Mad Men-worthy sofas, tables and more mid-century modern-inspired merch.
If you, too, are feeling Bobby Berk Home's Pantone-approved Palm Springs inspo and modernist wares, mark your calendars on Friday, October 4th for the store's grand opening bash. From 6pm to 9pm, sip free drinks, snack on tasty apps and shop the designer's latest collection of furniture and home goods. (Oh, there's free valet, too.) Plus, guests will score a chance to win this cool couch.
