Featuring a grey and purple color palette, the dimly lit space is meant to provide celebs with an off-stage retreat during the big show, which airs this Sunday at 5pm on CBS. Inspired by Audi's TDI vehicles, Altuzarra created an efficiency-meets-luxury vibe be selecting locally sourced vintage furniture, custom-made sofas with conveniently built-in phone chargers and a retro minibar car. Here, the designer reveals more about the room and his crush on LA.
Was designing the Audi Green Room a challenge?
"It was a good challenge. We wanted to create a room that felt very intimate and special. Our brand is more aligned with how a woman lives her everyday life as opposed to on the red carpet, so I wanted to design a room that lived within both the Altuzarra and Audi vernaculars while still saluting Hollywood."
Mission accomplished. So, are you a fan of the Emmys?
"Yes! I watch a lot of television. I love Homeland."
Have you done anything fun while you've been out here?
"Yes, I've really enjoyed myself during this trip. Last night I had an incredible meal at Komodo. I also did a fair amount of research by visiting The Way We Wore and Mister Freedom."
Do you think Altuzarra will ever open an LA store? (Please say yes.)
"I hope so! I love LA and would love a reason to come back more often."
