To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Susan Peterson is the Vice President behind Cali-cool, LA-based label Michael Stars. Known as the purveyor of the "original tee," the celeb-beloved brand has garnered a loyal following for its casual-chic basics since its debut more than two decades ago. Most recently, Peterson has been busy helping the brand expand beyond their insanely comfortable, bright-colored tees. Along with a new seaside store at the Malibu Country Mart, the brand now boasts a growing range of apparel that is equally as effortless and fresh as the tees the brand is known for. Given that she's an all-around pro on California style, we asked the brilliant lady for her go-to retail gem in LA and she pointed us to this high-fashion boutique in Bel Air.

I love the eclectic mix [at KIN on Beverly Glen], from the local artisan fine jewelry to the great mix of local jeans and European clothing. They also have killer hats. It feels like they have items other stores don't carry. Their windows always look amazing, too. Major eye candy!
