From Real Housewives to Dukes of Melrose, Bravo really knows how to feed our LA-based reality TV addiction. Our latest fix comes in the form of Eat Drink Love—a new Sunday series that "follows five single ladies as they claw their way to the top of the male-dominated Los Angeles food scene." While we'd definitely watch said clawing anyway, we're particularly stoked to tune in because one of the show's stars is our sister site Eater LA's editor, Kat Odell.
A longtime style-setter (we first toured her charmed closet back in 2011), Odell isn't afraid to flaunt her love of fashion while surveying our city's thriving culinary scene. To put the pro foodie's pairing skills to the test, we asked her to match five Eater-approved restaurants with her five dream dresses. See the picks below and catch Eat Drink Love's season premiere on Bravo this Sunday, August 11 at 9pm.
Wear: Sam & Lavi Birdie Tunic Dress, $178.
Where: Flores (2024 Sawtelle Blvd). "This newbie is nestled on Sawtelle (a personal fave!) amid a sea of Asian eats. But, Flores, with its cozy rustic appeal, is plating an innovative menu of polished New American cuisine from pig cheek croquetas to the city's best soft shell crab sandwich (seasonal)."
Wear: Suboo Ipanema Printed Maxi, $195.
Where: Goldie's (8422 W 3rd Street). "I love Goldie's for its boho chic aesthetic and inspired seasonal plates. Hit up the bar for an awesome toasted coconut cocktail, the 3rd Street Mai Tai, with fresh basil and chocolate chili bitters."
Wear: Morgan Carper EVKA dress, $396.
Where: Bestia (2121 E 7th Pl). "A standout for both food and drink, this popular, hip Arts District addition is a must for multi-regional Italian cuisine that involves pistachio pasta and a great wood-fired pizza topped with house-cured sausage."
Wear: Ace & Jig Artisan Cotton Dress, $180.
Where: Pingtung (7455 Melrose Ave). "This inexpensive pan-Asian eatery and market is totally under the radar, a surprising gem appropriate for lunch or a casual dim sum dinner. You'll want to try the gyoza and the flatbread beef roll."
Wear: Chinti and Parker Striped Organic Cotton Dress, $180.
Where: sugarFISH (212 N Canon Dr). "Hands down the highest quality/ best value omakase in Los Angeles. With multiple locations, sugarFISH channels a laid back minimalist vibe."
