LA native Jaclyn Shanfeld might be one of the founders of luxury fashion marketplace Shop Hers but she did not find herself in the industry by taking the traditional road. After high school, Shanfeld attended college first in Dallas then New York where she studied theater before moving to Chicago to work at Ford Models.

Her career as a modeling agent and scout brought her back home to Vision Models where she was working when she came up with the master plan behind her new company. "I was going to a different event every weekend and every weekend I would wear something new," she explained of the inspiration behind Shop Hers. "Every weekend a photo would go up on Facebook or Twitter. I found a surplus of merchandise in my closet without room for it and no desire to wear it again."

Shop Hers is an online marketplace where women can buy and sell designer goods via each other's wardrobe. "It's eBay meets Net-a-Porter," Shanfeld says. Each person is matched with their "Style Soulmates" based on their exact dimensions. So when you are shopping other people's closets you know that, based on a formula the Shop Hers team has created, what you buy from your style soulmate will fit you.

The site launched in November 2012 and recently expanded from a US-only market to 129 countries. Selling everything from bags and jewelry to shoes and apparel, Shop Hers features some of fashion's most coveted labels. Chanel, Celine or Balenciaga anyone? As of today, the most pricey piece to pass through the portal has been a crocodile Birkin that sold for $36,000.

We caught up with Shanfeld at Kreation Kafe in Santa Monica just blocks away from the Shop Hers Headquarters. Over a purple juice, we chatted pet peeves, impulse purchases and of course, reality television.

What are you drinking today?
"I'm drinking the Purple Passion."

Apples or Oranges?
"Apples."

What's your favorite fashion era?
"The 70's because it was so effortless chic. It was just so cool, so groovy, anything goes, laid back. I love bright colors and anything short. I love the idea of wearing a short dress with flare and high boots."

Vintage or Brand New?
"Vintage."

Sartorially speaking, what is your biggest pet peeve?
"Uggs and sweat suits. I'm so glad it's starting to end. I'm all for a good sweat suit but the combination of the two all day long and into evening hours at a restaurant, it's too much."

What's your favorite reality show?
"Double Divas, I think it's on Lifetime. It's two women that have a bra store and it is something you've never experienced in your life. Double Divas is on another level."

Shaken or Stirred?
"Shaken."

What is your breakfast order?
"Egg whites, avocado, wheat toast."

Where is your favorite place to go for a quick weekend away?
"To drive, I love the Parker in Palm Springs."

What is your guilty pleasure?
"Law and Order: SVU and red vines."

When is the last time you cried from physical pain?
"Does a bikini wax count?"

What is the last voicemail you left?
"It was to my little sister who broke her nose and had surgery on it. I called and sang 'Happy Birthday' to her nose. It was more like, 'I'll miss you' but to the tune of 'Happy Birthday.' She'll be happy reading this."

Where is your favorite place to go for after-work drinks?
"I don't leave work, we have a couple of bottles of champagne in the refrigerator that we'll pull out on good days. Probably Shutters though."

Live Television or Recorded?
"Recorded."

What's the last thing you bought that you had to return?
"I don't return anymore, I just sell it on Shop Hers!"

In the Water or On the Beach?
"In the water."

Who is your favorite designer and what would you wear to dinner with them?
"Azzedine Alaia and I would wear one of his classic fit and flare dresses with a waist belt and an amazing pair of spiked cut-out shoes."

What's the most overused phrase in your vocabulary?
"Everybody at the office will tell you, 'with that said.' My intern actually mocked me yesterday when I asked her 'Would you do this for me?' She responded, 'Yes but with that said?' I've been saying it like crazy."

What's the best impulse purchase you've ever made?
"My 30th Birthday bag, it's the Hermes Evelyne Bag and I got it on Shop Hers."
