Welcome to Racked LA's search for Los Angeles' hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile sixteen smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!

Tomek Kosalka has been a certified trainer for two and a half years. A go-to at Equinox West Hollywood, he teaches a bootcamp-style class geared primarily toward bodyweight exercises, working very hard with very little rest. "I don't have much experience teaching anything else, so naturally it's my favorite," he says while flashing a smile that has likely melted a thousand hearts.
Prior to jumping into the business of fitness, Kosalka was a career academic working toward a PhD, aspiring to become a professor and leadership consultant. "But life handed me a series of unexpected twists and I wanted to get back to using my body, empowering others and making a more direct impact on those I worked with," he adds. Tailoring to each clients' needs, his training style ranges from butt-kicking and limit-pushing to empathetic and gentle.
Although he's a master at transforming bodies and is an overall smartypants (he used to teach college students, too), Kosalka's best talent isn't what you'd expect. "I think it's far more telling that I can sing almost every song I hear once, word for word," he reveals. "I'm also known to frequently dance like I'm in the club in front of my clients." Sign us up.
