Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Welcome to Racked LA's search for Los Angeles' hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile sixteen smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!
One of the many submissions we received for Christine Bullock noted that, in addition to being "amazing and gorgeous," she also "shames the most muscle-y men" with her astonishing athleticism. An instructor at both Equinox South Bay and Studio Pilates in El Segundo, the brunette bombshell has been training for 15 years and loving every minute of it. "Teaching fitness brings me so much joy—I never feel like I'm working," she explains. "I would actually pay to do what I do." Bullock is also a nutritional consultant and boasts certifications in apparatus, barre, group instruction, trx, pre- and post-natal exercise and massage therapy.
Although she's obviously a natural in her field (or fields, the girl has quite the resume), her first dream was to become a professional ballerina. "I grew up dancing and never dreamt of any other job," she explains. "After teaching yoga in college, I fell into the medical field and began traveling around the world, lecturing about new medical devices. I also went into surgery with plastic surgeons." Bullock eventually had a change of heart and moved into fitness modeling, booking covers and campaigns for Men's Health, American Gladiators, P-90X and Insanity.
Equipped with more physical and creative energy than one could possibly contain, Bullock is also developing her own series of fitness DVDs (look out for 10 Minute Solution: Butt Lift this October) and is designing a fitness fashion line. There's more. "I have begun writing children's books, too." she reveals. "The books focus on nutrition, health, fitness, and environmental awareness for kids!"
