LA's menswear scene is on the rise. From minimalist suiting at Mattison and designer buys at Madison Mens to dapper duds at Mohawk Man and edgy wares at MRKT, stylish gents now have a rich selection of local retailers to choose from. The newest kid on the block is NY expat Seize sur Vingt, which is set to land on Melrose Avenue next Tuesday, September 3rd.
Neighboring women's hot spots like Beckley and Alberta Ferreti, Seize's first West Coast shop boasts 1,100 square feet of ready-to-wear and bespoke offerings. "We've had this New York, modern, tailored, downtown vibe," founders James and Gwendolyn Jurney tells WWD. "Lightweight construction is our background. It is the southern Italian way, and that works for L.A."
Shop highlights include a sleek gray interior, seating that welcomes lingering, a private lounge for custom clothing and, perhaps the coolest perk, a 3-D camera to film fittings so Seize's tailors in Italy can understand each client's curves. Pricing ranges from $210 for a casual shirt to $3,500 for a custom suit.
