Looks like denim label J Brand isn't the only one ditching high-traffic shopping stretches in favor of more laid-back spots. California Apparel News reveals NY-based boho chic brand Haute Hippie is opening its first West Coast boutique at Sunset Plaza, and a Malibu store is also in the cards for the celeb-loved line.
"When I think of Los Angeles, the first thing I think about is Sunset Boulevard," Haute Hippie CEO Jesse Cole tells the fashion industry pub, shedding light on why the WeHo shopping hub was his top pick over safe bets like Robertson Boulevard and West Third Street. "The Hollywood Hills are behind it, and it's in that real, authentic area of West Hollywood."
The 1,725-square-foot space will be decked out in cowhide accents and vintage chandeliers, nodding to the label's upscale hippie aesthetic. In addition, the shop—which boasts a larger footprint than each of HH's East Coast 1,400-square-foot stores—will showcase the brand's one-of-a-kind evening wear and accessories.
