Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If you have yet to catch one of For Love & Lemons' many sales, make up for it on a weekly basis come next month. Starting September 5th, the LA-based purveyors of whimsical wear will open its DTLA studio to the public every Thursday, offering fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with the brand while shopping one-of-a-kind pieces.
"Girls will be able to shop in our studio where we design, get an insiders view on how it all goes down and meet us, the designers!" explains FL&L founders Gillian Mahin and Laura Hall. "It will be a cool experience for people to see. We're also right across the street from Bestia, so if girls come after work to shop they can pop in for a drink across the street."
Mahin and Hall tell us that in addition to hosting samples and current collection looks, their weekly sales will also feature "exclusive styles that are not in our collections. We will be taking some of our best-selling bodies and doing them in fun new fabrics and colors. These styles will only be available in our store—nowhere else! Every single week we will have different exclusive styles, so it will always be changing."
If that's not enough action, the For Love & Lemons studio shop will also occasionally feature guest designers. Swing by September 5th from 11am to 8pm, and every Thursday thereafter during the same hours.
