Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Men: if you're into Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto or Helmut Lang, you'll want to make a beeline to Silver Lake. Joining Mohawk Man in Sunset Junction is new menswear shop MRKT, whose inventory of edgy chic streetwear and cult-cool brands is bringing a whole lot of black to the eastside hipster haven.
The 800-square-foot boutique is going for a "more progressive thinking with a high-end urban flair," carrying merch from LA designers like Daniel Patrick, plus gear from brands like Hood by Air, BLK DNM, a. hitching, Commune de Paris and more. In addition, the store is also introducing a handful of Japanese labels to the U.S., starting with Whiz Limited, Discovered, Doublet and Soe Shirts.
Stop by the shop for their soft opening 11am to 7pm Mondays to Saturdays, and keep an eye out here when we share deets on the store's grand opening bash.
