Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last December, we dropped the news that denim label J Brand would be opening their first stand-alone store in LA this year. Like many, we placed our bets on trendy shopping stretches like Melrose Avenue or Robertson Boulevard as the address-to-be for the brand's flagship, but WWD reveals otherwise.

J Brand's first brick-and-mortar will open its doors next summer and will be "a little bit off the beaten path," company CEO Jeff Rudes tells the fashion trade pub. "We don't believe you have to be on a cool street like Melrose Place to create an image and make money." In addition, the LA-based label also says they're in no rush to expand into handbags and shoes anytime soon, and J Brand fans will have to sit tight until 2015. (Bummer!)

So if not popular go-tos like Robertson or Melrose, would DTLA be a far-off guess for the brand's flagship? Does Venice's Abbot Kinney count? Any other ideas?
