Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Welcome to Racked LA's search for Los Angeles' hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile sixteen smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!
Our final contestant is Erin Yeomans, master personal trainer at her Burbank gym, Erin's Fitness Club. A certified group fitness instructor and celebrity trainer for eight years running, her classes include specific muscle conditioning programs, resistance training, stability ball exercises, body bar training and dance. "Most of my clients call me 'Spunky Punky' because of my energetic personality," Yeomans tells us. "I have a passion for what I do and that shows through my work, but boy can I kick some booty!"
When she was 12 years old, her father won an Emmy for the American Cancer Society, which inspired her to work in television. "I worked in television for eight years," she reveals. "Through my own journey during that time, I fell in love with health and fitness. Eventually I developed my own signature workout regimen and was given a series on NBC's Exercise TV on Demand."
Yeoman's has some sound advice for anyone looking to jump into the world of fitness: "Set achievable goals, concentrate on it daily, don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy your journey on the path to success." Once you're on Spunky Punky's level, expand on your talents: "I'm able to do a handstand while surfing a wave!"
