Welcome to Racked LA's search for Los Angeles' hottest trainer. Over the coming weeks, we'll profile sixteen smoking candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Then, once you've gotten to know everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite. Let the games begin!
"I was sixteen the first time I walked into a gym in Syria, after which I started to train to compete in bodybuilding competitions," explains our next contestant, Nader Freij. "That's when I first knew that I wanted to work in this environment. After competing abroad, I started at Equinox as a personal trainer, and then moved on to train solo. I had always had bigger plans, so I decided to open Reflex Performance gym with two of my friends where I now do one-on-one training and run coaching fitness programs."
Backed by nine years of training experience, Freij's goal is to inspire clients to live healthier lives through fitness and nutrition. In addition to private training and coaching programs, his gym also offers therapy, supplements and even grass-fed beef for those with a hearty appetite post-workout. Although the blue-eyed trainer started with a more strict coaching style, he describes himself today as "pretty laid back."
Working out isn't the only routine that Freij maintains: "I do this thing when I come out of the shower where I must dry my upper body as I'm standing in the bathtub, and then I hold the towel from the corners closest to each other so that it drapes down in front of me. Then, I put the bottom of the towel on the bathmat, after which I step onto it while still holding the upper corners to make sure that I do not wet the bathmat. After that, I proceed to wipe down my legs, while still standing on the ends of the towel."
