As many industry insiders have graciously shared, Silver Lake is the place to go for everything from unapologetically hip gift shops and boutiques to unassuming havens of vintage treasures and random finds. Joining the eclectic mix of storefronts is venerable Swiss shop En Soie, which picked the mecca of all things cool as the spot for its 1,200-square-foot US flagship.
The brand got its start in 1894 as a textile supplier for Rome and Paris' top couturiers and later became known its iconic silk scarves, unique apparel, quality ceramics and handcrafted goods. Unsurprisingly, the esteemed European house fit right into the vibrant 'hood the second it opened its artsy space (their creative clips are a must-see). "It is important for us that people find something different every time they come," En Soie tells us, and the half-boutique, half-workshop boasts an ever-rotating supply of decor that changes almost every week.
The boutique's toasting its new home with a grand opening bash next Saturday, August 3rd. Happening from 5pm to 8pm, guests can expect wine, bites and great company (and no doubt great convos) with the folks from Friends of Truths. The swanky affair will also fête the launch of the brand's cookbook. Diggin' it? RSVP for good times and good talks at store-la@ensoie.com.
