Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

This is pretty wild: Starting today, artist and TOMS collaborator Tyler Ramsey is moving into an enclosed box for one week near the footwear and eyewear label's Abbot Kinney shop. There he will be hand-painting custom shoes and eyewear cases for you, which you can see him create via the longest Google+ Hangout in history.

Coined by TOMS as "The World's First Human-Powered Product Customizer," the spectactle is sure to get weird as the days pass, since claustrophobia will undoubtedly trigger some loopy tendencies in the artist. (In the first hour, Ramsey has already said that he's having a pajama party and will be wearing a onesie.)

Watch the livestream here and give Ramsey a call at 1-855-704-3889 between 9am to 6pm daily to put him to work because, as TOMS says, "he literally has nothing else to do!" Prices range from $68 for a classic canvas shoe to $119 for an eyewear case. You can either pick your order up at the store in real time, or they can ship them to you and they'll arrive in a few days.
