LA designer denim labels might be rethinking their "Made in America" approach after the EU recently tripled its tax on US-made women's jeans. A recent panel of local industry leaders discussed the next steps for LA manufacturers, and True Religion was among the heavy hitters to weigh in on the tax hike. Deborah Graves of TR said the brand would "try to have a manufacturing presence in Los Angeles as long as we can," but that production for existing European orders would be moving overseas to be closer to the label's textile sources in Italy and Turkey.
