Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If you're still mourning the loss of Fashion's Night Out, you can wipe those tears away as there's another shopping bonanza joining the likes of Shopwalk DTLA to fill the FNO void. Next month, shoppers can score deep discounts around town when the seven-day-long ThreadCrawl hits hundreds of stores across the city.
Happening August 19th to 25th, the massive event will cost $17 (with $2 of that price being donated directly to City of Hope), and from the looks of the amazing roster, the ticket price is well worth it. Enjoy generous deals at too-cool shop Confederacy (plus gear from Rebecca Minkoff!), essential avant-garde boutique Cerre, Indie 38ers Myrtle and Buttons & Bows, designer consignment fave Espionage and a host of other retailers from Agoura Hills all the way to Pasadena. We're told about 300 stores are expected to sign on by launch time, plus plenty of pop-up shops and VIP events (including one at The Standard, Downtown LA) are also in the works.
Pumped to shop? Get tickets to the seven-day spree here, then keep an eye out on the list of participating merchants as it's updated here.
