French call girl-turned-lingerie designer Zahia Dehar is teaming up Cameron Silver to bring her fancy underpinnings to the states. WWD reveals that the 21-year-old tabloid magnet will launch her couture and ready-to-wear collections exclusively at Decades on Melrose in October.
"She's like a Barbara Walters special," Silver explains to the fashion trade pub. "The fashion world is so filled with outside-the-box personalities — who I think tend to be the ones that succeed the best — and I think she's a perfect example of being outside the box but really very committed to creating this brand." Dehar's dual focus was demonstrated during her couture show in January, where she emerged for the finale in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by a baby lamb.
To kick off the launch, Dehar and Silver are hosting a dinner at L'Eclaireur in Paris, where the designer will debut a "pâtisserie-boudoir" pop-up that features lingerie alongside gourmet pastries. Highlights will include "nipple covers in faux meringue made from silicone." She's hoping to bring this concept (and a standalone boutique) to LA one day, which would definitely deserve its own reality show.
