Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Our city is chock-full of style bloggers, but did you know that LA is brimming with video bloggers aka vloggers, too? From Rachel Talbott to the Fowler sisters, YouTube beauty gurus are kind of a big deal on the West Coast, which is why the video-sharing platform decided to host its first-ever beauty lab series here this month.
Located at YouTube Space LA in Playa Vista, the 44,000-square-foot creative facility organized an exclusive learning annex from May 20 through June 15 to offer rising beauty channels free production resources, pro training sessions and a space to create new programming. Participants included Tati of Glam Life Guru and Anne Di of Beauty Bitten, both of which will soon be household names.
The next annex is a Geek Lab for emerging fanboys, techies and "obsessively curious" digital darlings. Learn more and keep up-to-date with new summer labs here.
