Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Flowers are cute and all, but if you're looking to step it up this Mother's Day, we recommend clearing your sched to spoil mom with these shop-and-grub pairings. Just like last year, we teamed up with our sister site Eater LA to whip up a foolproof hit list that spans across a variety of neighborhoods, from Poketo and Bestia in DTLA to Soaptopia and The Curious Palate in Mar Vista. (Nabes are listed in alpha-order, for your convenience.)

Beverly Hills: After painting ceramics together at Color Me Mine's (233 S Beverly Dr; 310-247-1226) big event, show off your creations at modern Mediterranean eatery Momed (233 S Beverly Dr; 310-270-4444). Don't leave without trying the Challah french toast.

Culver City: After shopping Lundeen's (9726 Washington Blvd; 310-842-8400) Pinterest-worthy variety of kitschy knick-knacks and stationary, grab a bite at Lukshon (3239 Helms Ave; 310-202-6808) for some Asian fusion action. Yelpers are fans of the chicken pops and free desserts.

DTLA: After treating mom to Poketo's (820 E 3rd St; 213-537-0751) charming selection of kitchen supplies and artsy coffee table books, plan a visit to uber-trendy Bestia (2121 E 7th Pl; 213-514-5724) that evening for some flavorful Italian fare. This one is hot right now, so book a reservation stat.

Highland Park: After discovering global artwork, textiles and ceramics at local-approved Platform (5027 York Blvd; 323-230-7475), pay a visit to Ba Restaurant (5100 York Blvd; 323-739-6243) for fluffy French omelettes and addictive apple pancakes. Their Sunday brunch is stellar.

Mar Vista: After officially being converted into a handmade soap fiend at Soaptopia (12228 1/2 Venice Blvd; 310-398-8333), indulge in specialty chocolates and gourmet cheeses at The Curious Palate (12034 Venice Blvd; 310-437-0144).

Mid-City West: After making custom bouquets at Heath Ceramics' (7525 Beverly Blvd; 323-965-0800) special open studio that day, take in Terroni's (7605 Beverly Blvd; 323-954-0300) handmade pasta and abundant wine selection.

Pasadena: After picking out the perfect hand-painted letterpress card at Lula Mae (100 N Fair Oaks Ave; 626-304-9996), hit The Raymond (1250 S Fair Oaks Ave; 626-441-3136) for a decadent brunch and Prohibition Era-themed drinks on the patio.

Sherman Oaks: After scoring retro treasures at blogstar Karla Deras' favorite vintage jewelry haven, Sherman Oaks Antique Mall (14034 Ventura Blvd; 818-906-0338), head to Sweet Butter Kitchen (13824 Ventura Blvd; 818-788-2832) for a damn good Croque Madame.

Silver Lake: After exploring indie shop star Yolk's (1626 Silver Lake Blvd; 323-660-4315) extensive collection of art books and high-design housewares, hop over to La Poubelle Bistro (5907 Franklin Ave; 323 465-0807) for bottomless mimosas and Eggs Benedict.

West Hollywood: After giving Candle Delirium's (7980 Santa Monica Blvd; 323-656-3900) hypnotic array of heavenly scents a whiff, head to Goldie's (8422 W 3rd St; 323-677-2470) for a fresh kale salad or avocado on toast with smoked chili flakes.

Venice: After taking in Tortoise General Store's (1208 Abbot Kinney Blvd; 310-314-8448) beloved Japanese-style jewelry, art books and home decor, enjoy farm-to-table favorites at Axe (1009 Abbot Kinney Blvd; 310-664-9787). Tell mom it's pronounced Ahh-shay.
