Whoa! Whole Foods Is Coming to Silver Lake

Silver Lake has officially entered its next stage of gentrification. Following sleek boutique openings like Modern Nature and accolades from the likes of Forbes, this hipster-happy neighborhood is now getting its very own Whole Foods. Really!

Eastsider LA has obtained official confirmation from Whole Foods reps asserting that the high-end supermarket chain will take the 2520 Glendale Blvd space formerly occupied by Ralphs. Our sister site Curbed LA adds that rumors about a possible Eastside opening have been swirling since 2011, first sparked by a prankster claiming that WF was setting up shop in the old Circuit City spot at Sunset and Fountain.

No word on timing yet, but you can be sure that the new store will feature all the pricey eco-friendly fashion and beauty offerings we can't get enough of from the chain. Oh, and groceries, too.
