Welcome to Store Sidekicks, a summer feature that salutes the most adorable creatures lazing about LA's boutiques. Know any cute mascots? Tell us about them here.
Studio City's Maxwell Dog offers everything a pooch could possibly want, including beds, toys, collars, leashes and even a stylish wardrobe. Holding down the fort at the Ventura Blvd store is the lovable superstar Rosie, a five-year-old Albino Chihuahua mix who spends her days sprawled out on a blanket in the sun or in the arms of one of the many customers who come from all over Los Angeles to play with her.
Store manager and buyer Jillian Roller says Rosie, who she rescued four years ago, has a calming ability with a dose of telepathy: "She bites the butts of French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Golden Retreivers and German Shepards, and knows they are coming before they walk in!" Aside from her busy day job of being the most popular shop-pup north of the Hollywood Hills, Rosie is also the entrepreneur behind Rosie Bunny Bean, a line of dog beds soft enough for a unicorn.
