You'll soon be able to park for three hours while shopping at Malibu Country Mart. Just in time for beach season, Patch confirms that the new perks will apply to 29 spaces across Cross Creek Road in Malibu's Civic Center, which includes Malibu Village and MCM, and will be offered seven days a week, 8am to 5pm.
The Coastal Development permit was approved by Malibu's Planning Commission last Monday and is meant to "open the parking up to tourists and visitors and push employees to other parking spots in the area." In other words, Malibu knows that driving to Malibu can be a bitch sometimes (even when Earnest Sewn is serving major sale action), so this helps make it worth the trek.
As for the group that's duped out of this benefit, Cross Creek Road employees, a Patch commenter notes that they're "encouraged to park on Civic Center Way."
