Just as LA Fashion Week is getting some real momentum, an alternate LA fashion week is vying for press and support. Men's Fashion Week LA plans to debut "America's first ever Men's Fashion Week" this October. They are currently looking for designers to show for spring/summer 2014 and after the inaugural week, will show bi-annually in January and June.

In addition to searching for talent, they're also currently on the hunt for an official "face" of Men's Fashion Week LA. Over the weekend, organizers held an open call on Melrose and from the applicants, ten men were selected after walking and being interviewed in front of a panel of judges that included TV's Daniel Musto, menswear designer Lloyd Klein and Hasson Harris of Slater Model Management.

A round of public voting is open now, after which the final ten will be narrowed to three and then Men's Fashion Week exec producer Pamela Williams will announce a winner. The lucky guy will serve as the face of the event, will get a year-long modeling contract of some sort and is promised "apparel, footwear, accessories, and grooming products" sponsorships. All the men competing are above; go here to vote for a winner.
