It's prom season, y'all. If you or your kid sister is looking for something other than a run-of-the-mill department store number for the big day, cult-favorite retailers like Topshop and Nasty Gal have whipped up ways to stand out among the bedazzled, poofy-dressed crowd. In fact, NG has just rolled out a lookbook dedicated to the cause, aptly-titled "The Anti-Prom."
Swapping floor-grazing gowns for fierce minidresses, the LA-based brand encourages going for bold by wearing leather vests, biker gloves, playful cat ears, statement sunnies and suspenders connected to circle skirts. They also suggest ditching those dainty heels for mega platforms or—gasp!—fancy flats.
