Clothing, accessories and home goods discounter Ross Dress For Less is prepping right now for the opening of its next LA outpost. The chain, which has ten locations in the city, will bow its 11th this Saturday at 9am in Downtown LA.

For a host of reasons, this opening is more anticipated than other new Ross stores. The retailer has moved into the historic Woolworth Building, a art deco structure dating to the '20s, which they have cleaned and restored. And it's a sign (however unglamorous) of more retail moving into the area. As Downtown chronicler Brigham Yen puts it, "Although Ross is not considered an upscale clothing store, it would still be a large improvement over the current rundown situation along most of Broadway today."
