After less than a year on touristy Hollywood Blvd, hybrid retail shop and design studio Otherwild has found a new, indie-enthused place to call home. Located in eclectic art star Peter Shire's old studio on Echo Park Ave at the corner of Duane, the space's landmark is a sign made by a Japanese artist for Shire, which has been preserved by shop owners Rachel Berks and Marisa Suárez-Orozco. "It says something along the lines of 'An artist works here' or 'Artist's factory,'" Berks explains.
Once inside, you'll soon discover that Otherwild part deux is filled with all the well-curated art, jewelry, ceramics and one-of-a-kind trinkets that fans fawned over at the old outpost, but with an even larger selection. Welcome them to the neighborhood Wednesday through Sunday, 11am to 7pm.
