Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

A native Angeleno, Alexis Johnson is the creative director of Beauty Bender and the deputy editor of LA Confidential magazine. She is a former editor for Angeleno magazine and has contributed to many other publications, including The Hollywood Reporter. Here, the busy gal tells us about her favorite spot in Burbank for vintage decor.
I stumbled upon this gem of a boutique when I was vintage shopping for jewelry along Magnolia Blvd in Burbank. Nestled near all the must-stops in that area, Alexa's It's New To You packs a punch in a only a few square feet. Made for the home-decor inclined (no clothing or accessories in this joint), it's like visiting a well-curated flea market, sans the hours of walking. Stocked with amazing finds from estate sales around Southern California (yes, they have that to-die-for set of brass-handled matching nightstands that you just knew had been hiding out in some nonagenarian's ranch-style outside Palm Springs), the store carries a collection of furniture and home wares, like beautiful vintage cocktail glasses (my weakness) and original mid-century ceramics (also my weakness), at a price that won't break the bank. I've had to resist going there many a weekend, since I'm out of storage at home and am afraid of what I might come back with.
