Celeb Stylist Simone Harouche Loves the Real Housewives

It was a chance encounter with an old babysitter that jump-started the career of stylist to the stars, Simone Harouche. "After I graduated college I sent my resume to a bunch of agencies to send to stylists for internships," Harouche explained. One of those stylists happened to be an old babysitter who she'd bumped into only a day before the resume landed in her future-mentor's hands. The reunion led to an internship and later, an assistant position. Now, Harouche's resume includes clients like Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and Miley Cyrus.

The celebrity stylist is one of few Angelenos that has called LA "home" her entire life. She studied communications at USC and met her husband, who also grew up here, when she was in her 20s. Now, in addition to a crazy work schedule, she also has a full-time job at home as a mommy, "Right now, that's my life," Harouche said.

We caught up with the new mom at West Hollywood hot-spot Pressed Juicery, where she talked about her style icons, favorite pair of jeans and being 19 again.

What are you drinking today?
"I'm drinking a strawberry, apple and coconut smoothie. It's really good."

If you could be any age forever, how old would you be?
"19, it was my best year. I lived in New York—I was going to school there. I feel like everything was new and your life was ahead of you. It was just a really fun, exciting time."

What's your go-to look?
"Jeans, my motorcycle boots and a vintage T-shirt."

East LA or West LA?
"West LA."

Gas guzzler or hybrid?
"Well, I have a gas guzzler, even though I want to say hybrid because it's better."

What is the top played song on your iPod?
"That is tough. I don't know. Weirdly I want to say Bill Withers 'Lovely Day.'"

What is your best quality?
"I think I'm easy-going and there's not a lot that really bothers me. I sort of just go with the flow. Except when it comes to my husband, that's a different story."

Indoors or outdoors?
"Outdoors."

If you had a really bad day, what would say to make yourself feel better?
"I always just think, 'Tomorrow's a new day and no matter what, things will always get better.' Nothing ever gets put in front of you that you can't handle so even though it's intense, tomorrow something amazing could happen. You just have to think, 'alright, today was a bad day, tomorrow let's try and make it better.'"

Superbowl or World Series?
"Superbowl."

When was the last time you were embarrassed?
"When I was pregnant, I was running and I fell. That was pretty embarrassing. People were around me and didn't know what to do. It was like, there's just this big pregnant woman on the floor. It was when I was super pregnant and I slid down a little hill of grass. That was embarrassing."

What was your high school superlative?
"Most Likely to be Voted Prom Queen and Not Show Up to Prom."

What's the best vacation you've ever been on?
"My husband and I went to Venice, Italy about a year ago and that was amazing and romantic. I had never been there before so that was really cool."

Leather or lace?
"Leather."

What's your favorite television show?
"The Real Housewives, it's my guilty pleasure. I always watch Bravo, it's really sick."

What is the perfect pair of jeans?
"Right now, because of the baby, I'm into these J Brands, I think they're called 'Maria.' They're high-waisted and super stretchy so they hold everything in."

Who would you say are the three most stylist people?
"I think Jane Birkin, Talitha Getty and Audrey Hepburn."

When you were a child, what did you get in trouble for the most?
"Lying. I loved to make up stories."
