Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

If you've yet to discover Largo Drive, we'll give you a sec to navigate your clicker their way. Founded in 2009, the e-tailer has been putting online shoppers in a Golden State of mind with its rad roster of laid-back apparel, sleepwear and lingerie labels, including LA's own LnA, Wildfox Couture, CA by Vitamin A, Mikoh Swimwear and many more top talents both local and global.

It's only fitting that Largo Drive's sunny boho vibes and totally festival-ready merch comes courtesy of Sophie Taub, a former loungewear & intimates buyer for Fred Segal and born-and-raised Malibu girl whose style oozes California coastal cool. To help us deal with our city's temperamental winter weather (because below 70 is so hard, y'know?), we asked our new fave e-shop's head buyer for her expert dressing tips, her fave must-have pieces, the LA brands she's been eyeing as of late and much more.

First off, how would you describe your style?
"Well...hmm that's a hard one, ha! I would say my style is classic, comfy, and chic [rather than] trendy. I am all about mixing the old with the new. Day to day, I am pretty much a jeans and T-shirt kinda girl with a twist."

What pieces are you eyeing for the winter?
"I am lusting over these new LNA sweat pants we got in! I would also have to say our new Nightcap dresses, they are always so beyond sexy and the perfect dress you know you will always look amazing in."

Speaking of which, what are your top tips for dressing in LA's warm weather "winter"?
"Being an LA native, I would say the best tip I could give is to layer! LA doesn't get too horribly cold, but the weather is always unpredictable. You always want to make sure you have a sweater or light jacket handy for when the sun goes down. One minute it can be gorgeous out and the next minute the fog can be rolling in. Another key tip is to always, always have a bikini handy, you never know when an Indian summer might hit."

As for Largo Drive, what were some of your favorite buys this season?
"Oh man...I saw an abundance of great stuff for winter/resort. But if I had to choose a few, I think the following are staples every girl should have in her closet...they'll make winter layering a cinch: Wildfox's not-so-basic t-shirt, Lonely Sabel's strappy bralettes that you want to show off, Mara Hoffman's perfect party dresses and Inda Parnell's rompers that you can wear from day to night, the softest and coziest PJs I could find and printed bikinis for weekend getaways."

Are there any new LA brands you're excited to share on Largo Drive?
I have quite a few new bitchin' brands up my sleeve, but to name a few there is this amazing new active line called Olympia that I am beyond obsessed with. It's very clean and chic and just perfectly detailed. Another line that I can't wait to see on our site is Winston White—it's a mix of dresses, skirts, rompers, and tops that have a 'sophisticated boho' vibe; just the right amount of comfort and versatility that allows you to look put together while remaining casual."
