Besides breeding beach bums and jumpstarting the careers of Hills alums, Laguna Beach is home to one of Orange County's most fashionable five-year-olds. This past summer, we introduced you to Alonso Mateo, the Mexico-born son of celeb stylist Luisa Fernanda Espinosa and a private equity firm CEO. First discovered by Beyoncé stylist Ugo Mozie, the kid has more than 70,000 fans on Instagram and is undoubtedly the OC's answer to Alaia Rose.
The Coveteur recently paid a visit to Luisa at her Laguna home, where an exceptionally dressed Alonso had no problem hamming it up for the cam. In addition to incredible closet inspiration (shoe porn, anyone?), the piece offers further insight into the child's organic rise to fame. "I can't remember what inspired me to start styling Mateo," Luisa explains. "It came more natural then most would think. I'm sure every mom can agree that they get excited when they have their first child to dress them the way they think is best. Alonso's favorite things to wear are sunglasses, suits and sneakers."
The stylist, who beats Mateo's impressive Insta-following with her 250K+ diehards, also notes that her kid knows what he likes: "I think Mateo has his own style, it's just whatever he is in the mood to wear that day. He's only five years old so it's still being defined. He is opinionated when it comes to something he does not want to wear. He will always speak up and let us know what he wants to change."
