This Monday just keeps getting better. In addition to LA scoring its first-ever MUJI store, we now learn that Rick Owens wants to open a shop here soon. In an article highlighting his just-opened Miami flagship and new e-shop, the master of minimalism explains to WWD that "we're looking in L.A. very actively [...] We do have a space we're working on getting. We're determined to open in L.A. this year."
There are only two weeks left in 2013, so opening "this year" is pretty ambitious. We'll take next year, too, Mr. Owens! What shopping stretch do you think he has his eye on? Maybe near Maxfield on Melrose, where he showcased his "Turbo-L.A.-Monumental" furniture last year. Or perhaps DTLA, where fellow avant-garde hero Acne Studios is opening this week. The possibilities are endless.
