Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Thanks to SoCal's reliably fair temps, we Angelenos require a steady supply of stylish casuals for our warm weather wardrobes. If you're looking to elevate your basics game by way of experimental drapes and luxe fabrics, allow us to introduce you to new LA-based label Echo + Air.

For her spring 2014 capsule collection, designer Jordana Howard tells us she was inspired by the ethereal sounds of avant garde chanteuses like Grimes and Björk. The result: a line of smartly-structured tops, sweaters, skirts, dresses, leggings and more ($50 to $200), all influenced by "the Japanese approach to pattern design." Oh, did we mention it's all #MadeinLA too?

Love it? The pieces will be stocked at Grey Boutique in Silver Lake, Weltenbeurger in Los Feliz, Industry DTLA and online starting at the end of this month.
