Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Monique Aquino and Karen Marley are the leading ladies behind the charming part vintage, part consignment boutique Buttons & Bows. Deemed one of the best vintage shops in LA, their splendid emporium is stocked with wonderful retro gems mixed in with more modern wares from favorite designers like Chanel, Prada, Hermes and the like. Over the summer, the burgeoning business gals took another successful step by upgrading to a bigger and better space in Downtown LA's Historic Core. Their go-to designer destination, however, is an exquisite boutique on the Miracle Mile. Here, Monique and Karen tell us why it's their fav.
I love Desiree Kohan's [boutique] DES KOHAN for her curated and fashionably obscure, yet timeless collection. I love that you can find Azzedine Alaïa in this tiny shop in the heart of the Miracle Mile. It feels like a hidden treasure that no one knows about, but totally not the case. She has a major cult following. The décor feels cozy, yet minimal. Her taste is unparalleled.
