It's all happening! After months of speculation and anticipation, Urban Outfitters is set to soft open its new home at the Rialto Theatre this December. DTLA blogger Brigham Yen offers a first look at the mega retailer's makeover to the historic venue, which includes a revamped marquee, an interior movie screen and newly-installed bike racks.
Yen notes that "the interior build-out of the store is also nearing completion with a new staircase leading to a fully built-out second story level. Keeping with the theme of being in a historic 1917 movie palace, Urban Outfitters has added a large white theater screen on the back wall of the store where silent movies were once projected on."
The retailer's goal is to complete construction by early December and open to the public in time for holiday shopping. Let's see if this location tops UO's magical Malibu mecca.
