Illume Spa Brings its Luxe Anti-Spa Aesthetic to Brentwood

From the insanely indulgent to the uber budget-friendly, our fair city's got a plethora of places to get primped and pampered. Striking a happy medium between the two is Illume Spa, which is now serving up super-luxe facials and waxing in Brentwood.

Founded by Lexandra Berchik and Kathryn Serviss—who honed their chops at spas like Bliss and Remede—the 1,200-square-foot space boasts a more contemporary, intimate and "anti-spa" feel with vibrant colors and tons of natural light rather than the dim-lit, sleepy-time vibes of other spots. "We purposely didn't want to have massive facilities because we are a treatment spa and our focus is on treatments, not jacuzzis," the duo tells us.

Offering everything from peptide-infused facials and diamond microdermabrasion to hair-removing treatments featuring Australian and French waxes (ooh la la!), the two pro aestheticians no doubt live up to their titles as "Wizards of Skin and Wax."

So what's it all going to cost? For those on-the-go, express facial services range from 20-minute peels ($60) to half-hour face-firming and lifting treatments ($150). Full treatments include the one hour classic ($120) to the 75-minute blackhead-busting facial ($145) to the 90-minute epic face rejuvenator ($200). If you're looking to go hair-free, waxing services range from $10 to $120, including full Brazilian waxes for ladies ($65) and chest waxing for the gents ($40).

To toast their new digs, the swanky spa's throwing a grand opening bash this Friday, October 11th from 6pm to 9pm. Guests can enjoy tasty bites, free sips and swag bags packed with Illume's exclusive skincare products.
