Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.
From designing stellar capsule collections to hosting designer shopping soirees to getting tapped by big name brands and stores like Topshop, Barneys and Gap, LA fashion blogger Geri Hirsch is unstoppable. Not only does the multi-talented girl curate snaps drool-worthy lookbooks and outfit inspo on her super-popular blog Because I'm Addicted, she's also co-founder of Leaf.tv (stands for living, eating and fashion) a separate, yet equally entertaining, medium through which she allows her creative juices to flow through short, informative clips on everything from fashion and DIYs to delectable dish and cocktail recipes. Knowing the extent of her creative genius, it comes to no surprise that the she likes her things to be unique and carefully curated. When we asked her where she goes to find such pieces, she pointed to this vintage wonderland in Venice.
[The Mart Collective] in Venice is a mecca of vintage home decor. [It's] one of those places that you imagine only Kelly Wearstler knows about. We're talking a 16,000-square-foot space complete with hundreds of vendors that sell everything and anything you've ever spent your Sundays hunting for at the flea markets: the moody candle sticks, brass book ends, gold rimmed tumblers, silver trays, candy bowls, chandeliers, crystal ashtrays and yes, even the designer vintage furniture. The bonus? Prices are negotiable!
