The Minimalist's Answer to the Bucket Bag

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Today's pick comes from Racked NY associate editor Nicola Fumo.

Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag, $495

Told you so! We wrote about Mansur Gavriel in the spring after the new bag line had secured accounts with a few of New York City's most ahead-of-the-curve boutiques, predicting that the designs would sell like hotcakes. They have since all but sold out locally, and are difficult to track down online, even after Net-a-Porter and Need Supply Co. picked them up.

Can you blame the hungry fashion masses for devouring these beautifully utilitarian bags? I'm personally craving the bucket bag, which is available in a handful of exterior and interior color combinations. It's a refreshingly minimal spin on the silhouette, which can all too often get a little crunchy. The bag should be back in stock in black on Steven Alan's website toward the end of the month. Get that clicking finger ready.
