Major bummer for Wildfox Couture designer and Siwy Denim co-founder Michelle Siwy, who was given a preliminary order by the LA County Superior Court to stop using the term "Siwy" in advertising and marketing efforts for Wildfox. Fashion trade pub WWD reports that the LA-based designer must provide a disclaimer that states her denim collection for vintage-inspired label Wildfox is not affiliated with her former namesake jeans brand, and that all stores and third-party sellers who stock her merch must also follow suit. Siwy parted ways with Siwy Denim last year and filed a lawsuit against her former firm, alleging it backed out on promises to grant her a 32 percent stake in the company. The denim brand then counter-sued Siwy and Wildfox for alleged trademark infringement. Ouch. [WWD; Previously]
