British socialite Petra Stunt (née Ecclestone) is gorgeous, extremely wealthy and lives in Los Angeles. The 24-year-old pouty blonde first made headlines in 2011 when she purchased Aaron and Candy Spelling's Holmby Hills mansion, The Manor, for a cool $85 million. Stunt is now making waves in the fashion world with her super-luxe, celeb-favored handbag line called Stark. Here, the self-described Balmain superfan reveals her recent splurges, local shopping haunts and beauty must-stops.
What inspired you to start a handbag line?
"With Stark, it was important for me to create a handbag line that is luxurious, but sexy. Fun and whimsical, yet edgy at the same time. Each bag is like a piece of jewelry; it makes an outfit unique and glamorous."
Who would you love to see wearing your designs?
"I love Miranda Kerr and Rihanna. We have had amazing people wear them thus far—from Jennifer Lopez to Jessica Alba—so I am very happy with how Stark has been received by the celebrity and fashion communities."
Who are some of your favorite designers?
"Favorites include Charlotte Olympia, Isabel Marant, Alaia, Jimmy Choo and Nicholas Kirkwood. I love shoes and handbags, but often you'll find me in a pair of flats, jeans and a Stark Day bag."
Where do you get your shopping and beauty on in LA?
"For shopping, I love Elyse Walker, Intermix, Saks Fifth Avenue and Curve. For beauty, I get my hair cut and styled by Andrea Jaclyn at Ken Paves Salon in West Hollywood. My color is done by Tracy Cunningham."
What was your most recent shopping splurge? Is there anything on your wish list?
"I recently purchased an Hermès Kelly bag—it's a true collector's piece. In regards to my wish list, I love several pieces from the new Balmain collection. I'm obsessed with their dresses!"
Do you have any new projects in the works?
"Stark is a true full time job—the new collection is something I'm really proud of. I'm also very involved in the Meningitis Trust as an ambassador; it's a philanthropic organization that is very dear to me. It's an important goal of mine to grow its awareness stateside this year."
