Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

When she couldn't find a function and stylish laptop case for her job working in French television, Clare Vivier created her own—which she quickly parlayed into her now-eponymous handbag brand. From conception to fabrication her line has been made exclusively in Los Angeles since 2008, consciously engaging in ethical manufacturing practices without compromise. Here, she shows us her favorite new spot in Echo Park to score vintage finds.
My hidden gem is Sweet As... Vintage Clothing on Sunset Blvd. in Echo Park. It just recently opened but the two lovely owners Alex and Odessa have been collecting vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories for over fifteen years. Their collection is so well curated and every item is in excellent condition. They have everything from 1960's Samuel Winston to polka dot Guy Laroche. You cannot help but fawn over the amazing collection of jewelry they have sourced along with shoes, belts, and bags. It's a vintage-lovers dream and you know you will always leave with something great. They are continuously adding new items to the floor making it a constant temptation to pop in and see what they have recently found. You definitely do not want to miss stopping here the next time you find yourself on the East Side.
