It was only a matter of time until celeb hair haunt Neil George got a new name. After all, the "Neil" of Neil George, Neil Weisberg, left months ago to open his own salon Mèche with star colorist Tracey Cunningham (formerly of Byron & Tracey—what's up with all these hairstylist marriages and divorces?). Meanwhile, remaining partner Amanda George linked up with big-name cutter Jonathan Antin, who had been looking around for his own salon after achieving reality TV fame via the show Blow Out—and the duo has lots planned.
In addition to the name change, the space is getting a light makeover. The exterior will be painted dark gray and black; the seating area inside will feature a Chesterfield sofa and a "reclaimed driftwood tables." Antin and George see the salon as the jumping off point for a major brand expansion and is working on new locations as well as a Jonathan and George product line. Said Antin, "We are two long-term experts in styling, cutting and coloring. That sets the tone for our staff, and it paints a complete picture. That's what is different about us."
