Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

The fashionable David Plafchan is the executive creative director of The Bouqs, a simple, sustainable and streamlined way to order freshly-picked flowers from the mountain of Ecuador. For $40 or less (including all shipping and fees), you can pick a 'bouq' to have sent to a friend or loved one. The site also allows you to schedule recurring deliveries of flowers, so you never forget that special occasion. Here, he reveals his favorite Venice Beach surf shop.

I love Mollusk Surf Shop. It's a Venice Beach surf shop meets awesome clothing store. Right next to surfboards they sell dope flannels, tees, shoes and hats. Their board shorts are sweet and they have a great selection of hoodies that you can wear year-round. It's a really cool atmosphere with local artwork on the wall that you can actually purchase. The staff is laid back and have that 'surfer dude' vibe and they even have a spot to store your longboard if you cruise in. It's a great West Side spot for comfortable clothes and it's definitely a gem amongst the Boardwalk riff raff.
