Three years before Céline and Jil Sander presented luxury sack bags on the runway, LA-based stylist-turned-designer Beth Goodman pioneered the trend with her famed Picnic clutch. Inspired by a woman carrying a rolled-up paper lunch bag on the streets of Paris, Goodman dreamed up these clever accessories under her alter ego, Marie Turnor.

Favored by eclectic style stars like Lisa Bonet, Zoe Kravitz and Bijou Phillips, Marie Turnor bags come in a variety of hues, including classic brown, black, red, and now metallic for spring. Score the gold Picnic clutch here, the Nasty Gal-approved foil Picnic clutch here, or shop them in-store at Mohawk General Store in Silver Lake and Madison in Beverly Hills.
