After what felt like a very long wait, the first West Coast Isabel Marant boutique has opened today on Melrose Place. Boutique 411 was first with the news; their report was just confirmed moments ago by WWD.
According to the trade rag, Marant became enamored with LA when the ash cloud fiasco of 2010 grounded her flight from NYC to Paris; thus stymied, the designer jetted west for a sunny break. "I fell totally in love with the city, with the landscape and the nature that is in the middle of the city," she said. "It was very surprising for me because I was not imagining that it was such a green city. Then, I thought I really wanted to have a shop there."
Marant picked Melrose Place over Rodeo and Robertson because the leafy stretch felt more private. "I think it will be my favorite shop in the world," she raved. "I would almost like to keep it as a house for myself." Check it out for yourself Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 6pm.
