Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Known for his fashion-inspired documentary photography, Samuel Lippke's work has been featured in magazines like People and in campaigns for brands like Akua Lani, Quail and Howe Clothing; he also counts Farrah Fawcett, Nobu Matsuhisu, Lee Iacocca and Jenna Fischer among his private clients. Here, the glasses-wearing aficionado explains why Guises Shop on Melrose is his go-to.
"As a glasses freak, I can never have too many pairs, one for every occasion. The glasses really just have to be a sexy design, wild and good for your eyes. Whether I'm styling a shoot, or looking for my own collection, I found this shop and I'm hooked. All of their styles are unique and edgy...just the way I like it. This is a must if you're looking for new shades!"
