Posed as an "autographical novella," cult-favorite writer Tao Lin released Shoplifting from American Apparel back in 2009. A little about shoplifting and a lot about relationships, the paperback received rave reviews for Lin's deadpan humor and confessional writing style. Eventually, the book was made into a movie last year, and screenings are starting to trickle into select cities.
Directed by Pirooz Kalayeh, the "docudramedy" was shot all around LA (check out the Hollywood American Apparel's cameo) and stars internet celebrities Noah Cicero, Brad Warner, Bebe Zeva, Jordan Castro and yes, Mr. Lin. Although we missed December's screening here in LA, we did manage to get our hands on the trailer, which you can watch below.
