Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Jae Joseph is lead designer at RVHOMME, a menswear collection that he also founded. Joseph began his career in fashion as a Ford model and was the face of a Diesel Jeans campaign directed by Adriano Goldschmeid; he's appeared recently on the pages of Vogue Italia, Vogue Russia and Vanity Fair. The designer/model/man-about-town tells us his favorite tailor in Westwood for any and all alteration needs.
"My hidden gem in LA is Gary's Custom Tailoring and Boutique. Gary's offers custom tailoring at reasonable rates and also houses a small boutique of menswear, both new and used. Since I have this romance with leather, I'll often go to Gary for alterations or custom work. Gary's work is impeccable, he's very personable and has an exceptional turnaround service. I definitely recommend anyone living in the Westwood/Beverly Hills area to try out his services."
