Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Iris Ladao is SoulCycle's West Coast VIP concierge. Basically, she's the go-to woman for the brand's celebrity riders, influencers and LA-based press. We asked the LA newbie (she's a recent transplant from NYC) where she likes to shop and she told us about her favorite spot for note cards, wrapping paper and more.
"I'm a recent LA transplant by way of NYC, having moved after we opened our first West Coast SoulCycle studio in WeHo last February. With all my family and friends back on the East Coast, I found myself getting back to basics. SNAIL MAIL! Hand-written letters, cards just because. My spot of choice? Pulp on La Brea. They have the BEST selection of original cards for every occasion, and many are handmade by local artists which makes them even more special. Be it really funny, super sweet, sarcastic, sassy, naughty—every card you're looking for, for any occasion and any mood you're in, they've got it covered. They also carry lots of pretty handmade wrapping paper in fun colors and prints, and a sweet selection of books and hand-picked gifts. I always leave the store with more than I came for, it's that kind of place! My most recent purchase: a set of vintage valentines, and a letterpress card that says 'I love you more than Shark Week'."
